Annie’s Vintage is quite genuinely one of the prettiest shops in London. I am somewhat loathe to use that adjective, but it really is the absolute epitome of 1920′s-1950′s girly, luxe fashion. The shop is laid out charmingly, a lot of thought and care has gone into the look and feel of Annie’s and as a result it’s more simple, chic boutique than vintage store.
Everything has been beautifully kept and in perfect condition and the pieces are, needless to say, the best of their kind. The prices are not low but nor are they high given the high quality and excellent condition of every single item in the shop.
Annie’s Vintage is the perfect place if you are in need, or perhaps the more appropriate word is want, of any of the 3 following items: a lace, sequinned or embellished dress, a fur jacket or a silk scarf. If you can afford to go to Annie’s, there is simply no point going anywhere else for these things… Considerably cheaper items include: hats of pretty much every variety, sorbet coloured cashmere jumpers, crocodile skin bags, a small selection of shoes and super cute vintage swimsuits – a practically mandatory wardrobe item if you live within a mile of London Fields Lido.
Oh and behind a row of lace dresses so breathtaking they fall into the what I plan to get married in category, there’s a totally unforeseen leather jacket section, whoa quel surprise! Such a dark horse, Annie.
